Cauliflower AKA the new kale.
I was inspired by Hot For Food’s Buffalo Cauliflower recipe and was craving some salt and pepper style foods (my favorite thing to order at Chinese restaurants). I ran out of tofu and a large cauliflower head that was going to go bad any day now, so I fried it and I’m so glad I did.

Cauliflower is the most versatile vegetable ever! It absorbs any flavor you cook with it and is delicious anyway you cook it! You can fry and sauté it with spices and garlic or toss it in whatever sauce your stomach desires.

Recipe: 3 servings
Cook: 45 minutes
Ingredients: ☑️large head of Cauliflower ☑️2 1/2 cups of flour ☑️2 cups of unsweetened rice milk-batter should be a bit thicker than pancake batter ☑️3tbls of: salt, garlic powder ☑️2tbls of: black pepper, onion powder, chili powder ☑️1tbls of: baking powder For sauté aspect: ☑️4tbls of: minced garlic ☑️2tbls of: chili flakes --or-- ☑️1/2 of your favorite sauce 1. Wash and dry Cauliflower then cut into florets. The smaller the florettes the crispier and faster it cooks. Make sure to keep stems on the florets. 2. Heat up a pot with at least two inches of oil. Medium heat around 360F. 3. In a bowl, combine all dry then wet ingredients. Make sure batter doesn't sit too long or get too hot. 4. Dip the Florets in the batter and tap off the excess before dropping in to fry. Make sure to get it well coated. Each floret cooks about 7-15minutes depending on the size and how much you coat them in the batter. 5. Once golden, let it cool on a plate lined with paper towels. If you want them to be really crispy, put them in the oven on rack and baking sheet for a few minutes at 350F 6. In a pan with two tbsp of the cooking oil, toss in the garlic, chili flakes --or your favorite sauce-- and floret pieces. It's done once the florets are well coated with garlic or sauce.
**you could do this in the oven but it takes longer** @ 450F for 20minutes on both sides on a well oiled baking sheet **you can even adjust salt or chili amount to your taste buds** fry one, try it and adjust if necessary
