One of my favorite things at a typical Chinese restaurant is salt and pepper anything! Back in the day, I used to get s&p chicken wings, but now I stick to crispy tofu! There is something about the crunchy texture with the savory flavors of garlic and spicy that I just love and wanted to recreate at home.

To balance out the heaviness of the frying oil, I like to have the tofu with brown rice and fresh organic Persian cucumbers!
You could bake them, but it’s not hard to match that taste and texture from frying.

Recipe: 2 servings
Time: 20 minutes
Ingrediants:
☑️ 1 box of firm tofu ☑️ 1 1/2 cups of flour ☑️ 1 1/2 cups of vegetable or coconut oil
☑️3/4 cups of rice milk ☑️ 1 tbsp of each: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano ☑️ 1 tsp of each: baking powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, black pepper 1. Take tofu out of the package and make sure to dry it as much as possible.
2.Once dried, cut it into cubes no bigger than 3/4 of an inch. 3. In a small pot have an 1 1/2 of vegetable or coconut oil on medium heat
4.Combine all dry ingredients then the wet *make sure the better does not get warm or sit for too long 5. Once oil is hot or 360F, drench the tofu in the batter then fry each tofu in oil until golden brown approx. 5-7 minutes *make sure not to over crowd the pot* 6. Ring the excess oil on the tofu on a paper towel lined plate then season with extra salt and pepper and some sautéed garlic and jalapeño *optional but recommended
